Stacking The Shelves

Over the years, I’ve managed to acquire quite a large “to be read” list.  Right now it is probably nearing 8 stories tall. It’s my tower of magnificent, beautiful, wonderful books. You see I’m planning to build a castle. Yes a castle of books. And then live in it. And I want a dragon too. Outside she will guard my castle and inside I will read, drink tea and eat cake.

*looks dreamingly into the future*

I have in total 37 physical books that I own from my TBR list. Each time that I finish one book I somehow end up buying 3 more *oopsie daisy*. It’s just that those beautiful covers and homey smell of inky pages cry out from the shelves of Waterstones, and me being a valiant person must rescue those poor books and bring them to the safety of my castle.

Indeed I do love my tower of books but they are also beginning to scare me. It keeps on growing! I’m at a loss of where to start. At the moment I am reading the Gone series by Michael Grant ( sooooo good! ). One of my friends has left me borrow his copies. Soon I will be finished and need to start something of my own. It’s like I’m avoiding my own books :O I just can’t decide which one to pick. Pleeeeease Help! I need advice!

Happy Reading!

Marian ^_^

P.S I’m very sorry for lack
 of blogging recently. Our
internet doesn’t work 🙁

I can totally relate to having a large TBR List! But I try not to hoard books, so I am temporarily banning myself from entering a library or bookstore, haha. As for what to read first, pleeease read I'll Give You the Sun, I loved it! All the Bright Places is good too, and the Daughter of Smoke and Bone is a book I've been wanting to read, so if you read that and then told us your thoughts, that'd be great 🙂

Happy Reading to you too ^^

I was so happy to see a post from you in my feed!

I have the same problem! I buy books cheap and then don't have time to read anything aside from books for school. I also have a copy of All the Bright Places that I bought at a thrift store that is begging to be read. If you read it, let me know how it is:)

Good luck! And I hope your internet behaves!

XD I tried and failed at doing that. Going into bookshops is just inevitable. And it almost physically hurts to stay away! I've heard so many positive things about l'll Give you the Sun! Okies, that will definitely one of my next few 😀 and yes of course I'll write review and hopefully get a nice discussion going.

    Thank you Kat! ^_^

Aww thank you Sunny! That's so sweet! <3

Exactly! Time and books seem repel each other. I guess one cannot live while the other survives. <3 oooh you should read that too and then we can share thoughts!

Thank you! It's about as reliable and useful as a chocolate teapot…. :/

What a beaut post! So happy to hear from you as ever <3

I love those stacks. AND I LOVE GONE. I LOVE IT. I've only actually read the first five books and then managed to lose the thread, BUT I'm going to purchase them all and binge and IT'LL BE AMAZING. I love Gone. Gee.

Soooo your stacks! ~rolls up sleeves~ First things first, GATSBY GATSBY GATSBY. Yeah I love that book, can you tell?

(It's objectively perfect, I'm just saying.)

The Bell Jar is amazing and every girl should read it as a teenager; Game of Thrones is a necessity for every fantasy fan and it will rip your heart to bloody shreds and you'll love it. The Hobbit, too, is, like, THE staple of the fantasy world (or rather, LotR is, but of course TH comes first. So yeah. Get to it.) I adore Hitchhiker's Guide, and I think it's totally your type of book. SO funny. 1984 is properly brilliant and chilling and just, dang, amazing, and I LOVE Wolves of Mercy Falls! Love it! (I need to read Forever like, now.)

Books we have in common as TBR: Miss Peregrine; Daughter of Smoke and Bone; All the Bright Places; Never Let Me Go. So yeah tell me what you think!

Love your new picture by the way 🙂

    Much love, E xxx

    Thank you Emily! <3

XD ….. so you like Gone then? I liked Gone but it's the second book that's really got me into the series.

oooooh Gatsby movie is SOOOOO beautiful and stunning and I just NEED to read the book!

I am a big fan of Sylvia Plath, a little afraid it's gonna be all depressing though :/ I'm actually watching GoT series and not sure whether to wait until I've see the whole series or go ahead and read the books. It is V.E.R.Y violent 😮
LotR makes me cower in terror. I think I'll leave that for a while.
YUS! I started Hitchhiker's actually but had no time to read it so I put it away and vowed to come back to it soon

Honestly, you'll probably have them read long before I do. So you can tell me what you think!

Oh thank you XD I wasn't sure if it was a bit posy :p

    Always, M xxx

The movie is gorgeous (have you seen Luhrman's Rom and Jul. IT'S PERFECT.), just imagine that IN A BOOK. Yes indeed. You do well to be amazed.

Umm, yes, it is depressing. No point lying.

Ooh, controversial choice. Appaz series 5 really departs from the book, and now GRRM is refusing to say if series 6 is going to give spoilers for unpublished books, so some fans are stopping watching just in case (because appaz at the end of series 5 it goes beyond the published books). I've kept away from the TV show partly for that reason, also because the graphic violence/sex is not as bad on the page as I imagine it is onscreen.

IT'S SO GLORIOUS THOUGH. Don't be afraid. (We must all choose between what is easy and what is right 😉 )

Anyway, I'm aware this reply is really really late, how are you?!

ALSO, I nominated you for an award-y thing 🙂

Hmm nope neve seen Romeo and Juliet. I'll add it to my list, but if it's anything like Gatsby then I'll probably fall madly in love <3

Oooh interesting, if GoT books vary enough from the series then I could also develop another book addiction. The series is Reeeealy good and even more violent but you kind of get used to it.

    XD very Dumbledore <3

and my reply is even later, sorry. I am …. trying to get through my exams. They start next week so I'm very much not in touch with the world. I can't remember the last time I looked at a blog or the news.

THANK YOUUUUUU!! You're vlog was awesome and that little game of guessing the facts was really fun!

    Merry Christmas! xxx
